The first episode of Dr. Lawyer Breakdown goes back to the beginning as Dr. Joseph Ramos shares the story of his childhood and upbringing in rural Nevada. Born in Reno and raised in the tiny town of Austin, Dr. Ramos grew up as the oldest of eight children, spending his early years on a ranch and later in a close-knit community of about 150 people. He reflects on growing up without nearby medical care, his early experiences helping injured family members, his love of reading and learning and the competitive spirit that pushed him to work hard in school and sports.
As Bradford Keaty digs deeper into Dr. Ramos’ early ambitions, the conversation reveals that becoming a doctor or lawyer was not yet part of the plan. Instead, Dr. Ramos dreamed of becoming a fighter pilot after watching Top Gun aircraft fly through the Nevada skies near his hometown. That fascination with aviation, combined with his desire to learn and see more of the world beyond his small town, eventually led him toward the U.S. Air Force Academy and the next chapter of his story.
