On April 20, 2019, Dr. Joe Ramos and several of the Ramos Law team had the distinct pleasure of meeting with one of America’s most decorated Olympians, Amy Van Dyken prior to her keynote address to the 500 attendees of Stride’s annual fundraising gala. Stride (formerly known as Metro Community Provider Network [MCPN]), includes 18 health centers across the Metro Denver area. Stride has been providing healthcare to uninsured and underinsured patients since 1989 by providing a wide variety of services from family care to mental health care and even substance abuse treatment for over 50,000 thousand patients every year.
According to Dr. Ramos, “For the 10+ years I worked in the Emergency Room, we sent literally thousands of patients to what is now known as Stride. It was THE place that we knew where those who couldn’t find care anywhere else would get served with love, dignity and respect, regardless of the life circumstances they found themselves in.”

Prior to sharing her incredibly inspiring story with the gala attendees, Amy spent an hour with Dr. Ramos and several of his team members. During this amazing hour of conversation, Amy shared many incredible stories of her Olympic experience, her post-Olympic career in broadcasting, her current life of motivational speaking…and even her recent invitation to compete in the CrossFit Games-Disabled Athlete. It was truly a pleasure to visit with such a wonderful, energetic and enthusiastic person.
