N20747 Small Plane CrashGolf Course Location

The Meridian Golf Course is located just five miles south of Centennial Airport, in an unincorporated area of Douglas County south of C-470. The proximity to the airport likely played a role in the pilot’s decision to attempt an emergency landing on the course. While not ideal, golf courses can serve as potential emergency landing sites for small aircraft in distress. Their open, flat terrain and typically unobstructed approach paths make them viable options when pilots face critical situations. Emergency landings on golf courses can pose risks to both the aircraft occupants and individuals on the ground. Fortunately, in this case, the outcome was relatively positive, with only minor injuries reported.
