The 2017 hurricane season has been one of the worst ever recorded. Hurricanes Harvey and Irma caused billions of dollars in damage and displaced or negatively impacted millions and millions of people across the Eastern and Southern parts of the United States from Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas all the way down to South Texas. In total, there were 17 storms this season which is up considerably from the yearly average of 12.

Needless to say, with this much damage to human life and personal property, the need for assistance is beyond great, it’s monumental. On September 15, 2017, several members of the Ramos Law team rallied behind the efforts of the Salvation Army to assemble and fill relief boxes. These boxes will serve to bring much-needed food, water and supplies for not only victims of these horrible tragedies, but also to the aid workers who are trying to help these people get their lives back together. The relief boxes are set to be shipped not only to US destinations but to Mexico City and the Caribbean as well.

Dr. Jim Hoven, Director of Operations for Ramos Law said, “We really wanted to help meet the need that so many people have following these devastating storms.  Many of us at Ramos Law have family or friends who were affected by these natural disasters and if we can’t be there in person, the least we can do is to help get supplies to those in need and the volunteers who are supporting them.”
