About Jessica Stuart
My name is Jessica, and I am a paralegal in Ramos Law’s Long Term Care Division. I am originally from the East Coast and was raised in New Jersey and spent my youth at the Jersey Shore. I am quite the pizza connoisseur. I have an associates degree in paralegal studies from an ABA approved community college and a bachelor’s degree in business from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
I spent most of my career as a paralegal in the insurance defense field. I worked out of house and in-house for insurance companies. I worked for GEICO as a paralegal in their in-house defense department. I was eventually promoted and became a claims adjuster. The areas of law I specialized in within insurance were premise liability, declaratory judgment actions, tort claims, standard auto suits, DRAM shop, and UIM and wrongful death actions. Upon moving to Colorado in 2019 I moved over to the Plaintiff’s side and have handled bad faith litigation on behalf of homeowners and businesses and personal injury litigation.
I joined Ramos Law in 2022 and our Long-Term Care Department handles negligence, abuse, and wrongful death claims against facilities in Colorado and Arizona. My passion for this area stems from watching the negligence and abuse my grandmother endured in skilled nursing facilities while I was a child. It additionally stems from a near death experience I had in a hospital in New Jersey in 2018 following a surgery and there were extreme negligent and abusive practices involved. I draw upon these experiences which allows me to have a passion for fighting for my clients and their families. My ultimate goal is to get them the justice they deserve while providing them with the empathy they need.
Outside of work I have an 18-year-old son who I love spending time with. I love traveling, spending time in the mountains, art, concerts at Red Rocks, searching for good pizza, practicing yoga, Reiki, mediating, and writing whenever I can. I am currently working on a book of short essays that range in topics from transitioning from the unconscious to the conscious mind to growing up New Jersey and New York City in the 1980’s and 1990’s.
